Terms of use, privacy, and copyright

These terms govern use of this site and all its content (texts, figures, maps, 3D model, numerical results, code, and technical article). You must accept them to enter the site.

1. Content license: CC BY-NC-SA 4.0

The original content of this site is published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license.

Additional permission for media. In addition to the rights granted by the license, the author authorizes informational use of the original content on television and in other media, including commercial media, under the conditions in section 3. Creative Commons licenses allow authors to grant additional permissions of this kind.

Why this license. It is requested that the study be cited and that no profit be made from it beyond informational use. The model terrain is derived from FABDEM, published under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, whose “Share Alike” clause requires the same license for derived results. The base license is therefore CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, with the additional permission for media.

2. Mandatory citation

Any use, reproduction, or mention of figures, numbers, or conclusions must include:

Wood, L. (2026). Reconstrucción numérica del aluvión de San Carlos de Apoquindo, Las Condes (8 de octubre de 2026). https://aluvion.hirely.cl · CC BY-NC-SA 4.0

If a figure or viewer screenshot is used, the citation must appear beside the image.

3. Television and media use: permitted with credit

The content (3D viewer, screenshots, videos, figures, and numbers) may be used on television (free-to-air or subscription), online broadcasts, in the press, and on a media outlet's audiovisual platforms, without requesting prior authorization, under these conditions:

Notification is not required, but is appreciated: lesterwood@gmail.com. Higher-resolution material may also be requested at that email address.

4. Privacy and personal data

No tracking cookies, third-party analytics, or advertising are used. The site stores only a record of acceptance in the browser, so that it does not ask again.

Visit statistics (since 12 October 2026). The server records aggregated statistics from its technical logs: date and time, page visited, approximate country and city derived from the IP address (using the DB-IP Lite database), referring site, and browser or bot type. The IP address is not stored: only a nonreversible code that changes daily, to count unique visitors without identifying them. No cookies, JavaScript, or external services are used for this, and the data are only viewed in aggregate.

The record is retained while the site is published and for up to 2 years afterward, on a server in Chile. To exercise rights of access, rectification, erasure, or objection (Chile's Ley 19.628 and Ley 21.719), requests may be sent to lesterwood@gmail.com.
